Lehigh University Press is happy to discuss book ideas with authors in-person, through email, over the phone, or by videoconference. Once you are prepared to submit a full proposal, please complete the Lehigh University Press Proposal Form and email it, a sample chapter, and a brief curriculum vitae to: lup@lehigh.edu. Please note that LUP does not publish recent fiction, recent poetry, or textbooks.
Once we have received your materials they will be reviewed to determine whether the press would like to consider a full manuscript for review. You can typically expect a response on your proposal materials within two weeks. For those projects the press wishes to consider for a full review, we will request a completed manuscript. That manuscript will undergo an internal review before being submitted to two external peer reviewers who will make recommendations in writing to the press director and editorial board.
Lehigh University Press maintains a co-publishing partnership with Bloomsbury Academic. LUP oversees editorial processes, and its board approves all LUP publications. Bloomsbury supports author contracts, manuscript preparation and production, distribution, and marketing.
